The Savannah Woman's Club
The Savannah Woman's Club was begun in 1956 to foster fellowship and service of women in promoting civic, social, and cultural advancement in our city. The Club motto is: "Wisdom, Justice and Fellowship".
The meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of each month September through May.
The Club is very involved in service to the community. Club women are encouraged to select a "program of work" wherein their interest lies. There is something for everyone who becomes a member of the Federation. Each Community Service Program has an area of Collaboration where club members work to improve their communities through different projects. There are also organizations that Partner with the General Federation of Women's Clubs and provide resources and suggestions for each Program.
The Community Service Programs are: The Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Outreach, and Public Issues.
Some of the projects the Savannah Woman's Club is involved in are: Scholarship to a student at Armstrong University, Alzheimer's Association, the Children's Garden at the Savannah Botanical Gardens, Safe Shelter, Fresh Air Home, People Helping People, Ronald McDonald House and Tullulah Falls School (founded by GAFWC members in 1909).
